Section 4.1.4 Create Logical Volume - StripeMirror/RAID 10
The StripeMirror/RAID 10 is combined by Stripe/RAID0 & Mirror/RAID1. It consists of at least 4 storage sections, and the number of its members must be even. This type combines the performance of the Stripe type and the security benefits of the Mirror type. The maximum access performance is single device performance * number of devices / 2. And in theory, it can works with at most half devices broken. Of course, it also wastes half the device for data backup.
The StripeMirror/RAID 10
To create stripemirror volume, you need to select at least 4 Physical Volumes which belongs to the same Volume Group, the selected Physical Volume will be remove when you select a Physical Volume in other Volume Group. The stripemirror format bar will be enabled after 4+ & even count Physical Volume selected.

The rules for volume size is the same as Stripe type, and size of stripemirror volume is the half of size of all components. of course, the size of all components are must be equal.
The restriction of volume size setting
And you can press Advance... button to change default settings of Logical Volume.
Usually user need not to change the default advance settings of Logical Volume.
Since the StripeMirror type is a combination of Stripe and Mirror types, its advanced Settings include both Stripe Size and Region Size

When all settings finished, press Done button on creating Logical Volume wizard to perform operation.
After operation finished, Visual LVM shows follow dialog to inform user that Logical Volume has been created.
